Our team of lung cancer experts works together to provide innovative treatments as well as patient- and family-centered care for people with all types of cancers that affect the lungs, including non-small cell lung cancer, small cell lung cancer, and mesothelioma. We also have a world-class team of laboratory and clinical researchers who are working to make tomorrow’s therapies happen today.

When you come to ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓƵ’s Lung Cancer Center, part of Perlmutter Cancer Center, we do our best to make your visits as convenient as possible. We offer lung cancer services in Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, and on Long Island, providing care that is closer to home. You can often see several specialists in the same building on the same day.

At the end of your first visit, you receive an opinion on your care that is the result of a collaborative effort. Our lung cancer experts not only meet to discuss your initial diagnosis, they also discuss your care during regular meetings throughout your treatment. Through our Young Lung Cancer Program, we also offer specialized services tailored to people ages 45 and under who have a lung cancer diagnosis.

Advanced, Personalized Care

Throughout your care at Perlmutter Cancer Center, the focus is on you. Our imaging specialists and cytopathologists, doctors who study diseases at the cellular level, analyze the tumor to make the most accurate diagnosis possible. With a tumor sample taken when you receive a diagnosis, we perform research throughout your treatment that might ultimately have a direct impact on your care.

Our nationally recognized interventional pulmonologists, thoracic surgeons, medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, and interventional radiologists create a customized treatment plan that’s right for you. You may also be eligible to participate in one of our . These trials offer people with many types of lung cancer some of the newest therapies available.

We use minimally invasive surgical techniques and robotic technologies to precisely target and remove lung cancer. Our thoracic surgeons have performed more robotic surgery procedures than doctors at any other medical center in the world. As a result, surgeons from around the globe come here to learn advanced techniques from us.

We also offer support services, such as lung rehabilitation, psychological counseling, and integrative health therapies, to support your overall wellbeing during and after treatment.

Our lung specialists encourage people at high risk for lung cancer to participate in our Lung Cancer Screening Program. Our goal at ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓƵ is to detect lung cancer early, when treatment is most effective.
